Take the Frisco Veterans Memorial Audio Tour
Listen and learn about the Memorial’s history, the meaning of the various parts of the Memorial, and their significance for veterans and Frisco residents.
The monument honors, recognizes and serves Gold Star Families and the legacy of their loved ones who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the Armed Forces of the United States of America.
Dedicated in 1948, this polished granite urn was the City of Frisco’s first veterans memorial. It was moved to this memorial site in 2004 and remains a prominent part of Frisco’s history of paying tribute to veterans.
The Battlefield Cross is a symbolic memorial on a battlefield, erected by service men and women, to show honor and respect for fellow service members who gave their lives in defense of our country.
The World War II "Flyboy" 7' tall statue, representing an Army Air Corps navigator, honors World War II combat airmen. It was dedicated on December 7, 2016, in recognition of the 75th observance of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. It represented the completion of a Frisco resident and F.I.S.D. student's Eagle Project for the Boy Scouts of America.
The Walk of Honor allows for veterans to be honored with the placement of a distinctive veteran brick bearing their veteran’s name, rank, service branch, and period of service.
The Wall of Honor remembers heroic veterans, from Frisco, who were killed in action while selflessly serving our country during a time of war. A Frisco Commons Park walking trail is named for each Wall of Honor service member and includes a trail marker citing their service and ultimate sacrifice.
The POW/MIA flag honors the roughly 82,000 service members listed as prisoners of war, missing in action or unaccounted for in America's past wars. It was first flown above the White House in 1982, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
