Promoting a Veteran-ready community

Frisco Veterans Advisory Committee

The Frisco Veterans Advisory Committee (FVAC) is a dynamic group of dedicated citizens committed to shaping community policies and programs that have positioned Frisco as a national leader in being a Veteran-ready community.

Acting as a direct voice for Veterans to the Mayor and City Council, FVAC highlights Veteran-friendly activities across North Texas, empowering Veterans and their families by providing valuable resources and support.

The committee also helps Veterans discover opportunities to engage with the community through employment and service initiatives.

Our Mission

To support Mayor Jeff Cheney’s initiative to honor, celebrate and award Frisco’s Veterans for the contributions to our country and leverage their talent to strengthen our community and local businesses.

We want Frisco to not just be a “Veteran-friendly” community but to be a “Veteran-ready” community that realizes the contributions Veterans can make to strengthen our community.

Pillar One: Enhance awareness of the contributions our Veterans have made to our nation.

Pillar Two: Sponsor programs that support Veterans successfully acclimating into our community.

Pillar Three: Promote the value Veterans bring through their contributions to local businesses and our community.

Over 6000 Strong

Frisco is Home to Over 6000 Veterans.

Texas has the largest veteran population in the country, with an estimated 6.11% of Texans ages 18 and older identifying as veterans.

Our veterans have strong technical, professional and personal skills that are valuable to local businesses and veteran owned businesses have a higher success rate than the average.

Our Vision

Frisco Veterans Advisory Committee:

A dynamic group of dedicated citizens committed to shaping and supporting community policies and programs, positioning Frisco as a leading, veteran-friendly community in the nation.

Our Vision

The Frisco Veterans Memorial is located Frisco Commons Park.

The memorial was originally dedicated in 2004 and expanded over time to now include the veterans Walk of Honor, the Wall of Honor, a Battlefield Cross, the Gold Star Family Memorial Monument, WWII Flyboy statue and information plaques on wars and conflicts since Frisco was founded in 1902.
