Mayor Jeff Cheney presented Mr. Don Fink with a proclamation honoring him as Frisco’s 2023 Distinguished Veteran. Additionally, Mr. Fink was also presented with a Congressional Certificate of Recognition from Congressman Keith Self.
Dick Peasley

Frisco Distinguished Veteran 2022
Lieutenant Colonel Richard “Dick” Peasley honorably served in the United States Marine Corps as an Aviation Officer from 1967 to 1987. During his 20 years of active service, he served in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot, served at the Naval Test Pilot School, and served as the Commanding Officer for (HMX-1) “Marine One” Helicopter Squadron and Presidential Helicopter Pilot for President Ronald Reagan.
Lee Myrben

Frisco Distinguished Veteran 2021
Lee Myrben honorably served in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Technician from 1955 to 1977. During that time, he served six tours aboard the US Naval Aircraft carriers, USS Wasp (1), USS Midway (3) and the USS Ranger (2), Of the six tours aboard those carriers, three were directly supporting US Combat Forces during the Vietnam War.

After I became Mayor, I decided we should select one veteran each year who served America honorably and continues to serve our community. Last year, we selected Korean War veteran, Bill Cates. Having lived in Frisco for 87 years, Bill Cates is our city’s first recipient of Mayor Cheney’s Distinguished Veteran of the Year Award. He has lived here all his life, outside of his Army service, and remembers when Frisco’s population was 736.
